Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford is an American musician, singer and guitarist who was born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist for The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all girls from the 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and raunchy lyrics made them noticed by the rock community. The group did not have much of a following within their home country of the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas and especially in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. Her debut solo album was 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her record Out for Blood. The two albums didn't receive much success and Ford disappeared from the rock world for a few years. In 1988, she returned to the world of music with a smashing album called 'Lita. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were two of her most popular hits. However, her success was short-lived and she remained absent from the industry for several decades. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, as well as 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, it was back in the spotlight. 2016 saw the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
